Tape 26

Warner is a serious pain in my ass. 90% of my blocked videos have been because of Warner. Unfortunately SOMETHING on this tape is blocked on Youtube and all I know is that it came from an hour+ long Paul Oakenfold mix. I am never going to be able to find it. And after going through my edit and upload process EVERY time I was emailed a copyright claim (WHY can’t they just tell me all at once?)…after more than an hour of edit, export, shrink, upload, repeat…. I am just done. That kind of shit is really taking the fun out of this.

I used Soundcloud for this one, and it looks like I’ll be using a combination of Youtube and Hearthis in the future.

End rant. Hahaha.

Tape 25

Another tape where I couldn’t decide what to listen to, haha. I think I was over La Bouche and wanted to see what was going on over at The Zone or KOME or whatever else I would wander off to if KWOD wasn’t doing it for me. We start out at The Alphabet Club, then on to Shawn and Jeff and like 45 minutes of no one being able to guess the Fast Track CD. It literally takes up half the tape. Haha. The prize was a CD and tickets to the upcoming 1995 Christmas Concert on December 13.

Tape 22

The audio on some of this tape is just abysmal. But it’s still kinda cool πŸ™‚ I date parts of it July 4-7 (from Glastonbury ’96 in the beginning) and possibly July 14 (being the Sunday after the release of Electronic’s Raise The Pressure πŸ™‚ )

By the way the entire Glastonbury broadcast is available at archive.org – rad!

Tape 21

This tape’s aiight. Very crackly through most of it, I’m sorry about that. But I’m serious guys WHAT was with my obsession with Interlude? I’ve got one other tape with it thus far but there are many more I’ve found. I wasn’t that particularly into Morrissey. I wasn’t that particularly into Siouxsie. Maybe as a sullen wannabe goth I thought I HAD to like it? Ugh. Who understands 13 year olds anyway. haha.

Tape 20

A delightful evening at The Alphabet Club πŸ™‚ Then suddenly it switches to 100.5 The Zone, a different station I didn’t usually listen to, to record Morrissey. I remember thinking The Zone was like… Diet KWOD. KWOD Lite. KWOD with Nutrisweet. Anyway, then we’re thrust back to KWOD for another delightful evening at The Alphabet Club πŸ™‚

Tape 19

3/4 of this tape is Alphabet Club, taped December 3 1995, and the rest is regular radio / Shawn and Jeff. Be careful of that Fasttrack CD towards the end, I swear it could induce a seizure. Also, there are some pretty loud instances of crackling sounds scattered around the second side, I’m sorry πŸ™

Tape 17

Way back on Tape 4 I mentioned the story behind Over Exposure and hoped it was on another tape… well, got some of it here at least, haha. I tried to date this tape using the Melrose Place promo but I failed, boo.

When I recorded this, it was the first time I ever heard PSB’s Where The Streets Have No Name, and I played this tape to death until I got Discography a few months into the 8th grade, so the best I can estimate is that it’s another Summer of ’94 tape πŸ™‚ (siiiiigh. what a great summer.)
