My brother used to borrow this tape to listen to Punk Rock Girl; he would have been about 7 or 8, haha.

This tape got blocked from Youtube because of the tiny Hootie And The Blowfish snippet. C’mon, it’s an ad for the album! Hahaha. If only the AI could tell the difference.
The 24 Hour Workout ad had me curious if that eventually became 24 Hour Fitness. Didn’t find any evidence of it, but then I fell down a 24 Hour Nautilus rabbit hole (THAT’S who became 24 Hour Fitness) and found this commercial – Oh, hi Live 105’s Lori Thompson! (God that commercial has 1996 written all over it)
Continue readingSupper with Schwarzmann from Bimbo’s 365! This was likely December 1996. Whenever this was, I actually remember the evening. I had the house to myself, so I took a walk to the store to get some food and soda and I listened to the show leaning out the window watching the rain 🙂
I think Supper with Schwarzmann was recorded over a bit of KWOD and The Movement from late July 1996 (based on the July 25 Super Cop release and an ad for a Cure show on August 5, which REALLY confused me when I was trying to date this tape.)

At this point… I am 100% certain that somehow, Bizarre Love Triangle is my most recorded song. It had a resurgence, right? Maybe when the Best Of came out? I swear it’s on every tape I’ve done so far, haha. Not hating. It’s kinda funny at this point 🙂
Continue readingParts of this are labeled “Rewind 95”, and then it’s Sounds of Sacramento recorded on Christmas Eve.
Continue readingKris, just because KWOD uses Raincry in their promos sometimes it doesn’t mean you have to record the whole song every time they play it. Hahahaha
Late October 1994. I’d be getting Very for Christmas in a few months (and I think Discography either right before or right after thanks to my first BMG membership, haha) so I was still playing my radio recordings at this point.
I was apparently under the impression that I had to love U2’s Where The Streets Have No Name just because PSB covered it, haha.
Watch the volume, it starts terribly low then gets back to normal at 3:33.
Continue readingI think the majority of this tape was recorded in my car on a day trip to San Francisco with my family. Yeah, I actually brought a whole ass boom box on a family car ride. That probably would have been on a weekend day though, but the Modern Music Minute was a Thursday (August 17 1995). So, I dunno. Haha.
I, uh, like, apologize profusely for my, like, uh, my commentary and stuff.
Continue readingI’d cry missing Anything Box, Cause and Effect and Machine In Motion too. Killer lineup. I’d see Anything Box quite a few times like 20 years later at least, haha 😀
