I think the majority of this tape was recorded in my car on a day trip to San Francisco with my family. Yeah, I actually brought a whole ass boom box on a family car ride. That probably would have been on a weekend day though, but the Modern Music Minute was a Thursday (August 17 1995). So, I dunno. Haha.
I, uh, like, apologize profusely for my, like, uh, my commentary and stuff.
Continue readingI believe this was February 12 1995. This is a really good Movement! But again, very crackly. I think I started recording on one side, then flipped it, and then went back to the first side again?
Continue readingI was so young and innocent but now it is so clear to me that this is music to lean back and spark it to. At the time, I would lay in my bean bag, incense burning, a purple lava lamp my only source of light. No smoking though. I was a clean teen. Haha.
Continue readingRecorded August 29 1994 🙂
Continue readingThe audio on some of this tape is just abysmal. But it’s still kinda cool 🙂 I date parts of it July 4-7 (from Glastonbury ’96 in the beginning) and possibly July 14 (being the Sunday after the release of Electronic’s Raise The Pressure 🙂 )
By the way the entire Glastonbury broadcast is available at archive.org – rad!
Continue readingA delightful evening at The Alphabet Club 🙂 Then suddenly it switches to 100.5 The Zone, a different station I didn’t usually listen to, to record Morrissey. I remember thinking The Zone was like… Diet KWOD. KWOD Lite. KWOD with Nutrisweet. Anyway, then we’re thrust back to KWOD for another delightful evening at The Alphabet Club 🙂
Continue readingWith Always being considered new (dating that part to Spring of ’94), and with “Thank You” being given away (dating that bit to the Spring of ’95)… this tape kinda goes back and forth through time. Some of the live club broadcast is from the Acme Dance Club, and some is from The Alphabet Club.
The Shawn & Jeff bit at the beginning has been seared into my mind for over 20 years and I had no idea I had recorded it. But even to this day, the thought of chocolate shakes with extra cheese cross my mind every time I go into a Del Taco.
Continue readingUgggghhhh, another tape where I put the two sides together wrong.
Pretty sure this was recorded either 8/25, 9/1, 9/8, 9/15, or 9/22 1995. Yeah, I know that really narrows it down. Heh.
This was recorded on a knock-off Martika tape I got at the Oakland flea market back in like ’89, hahaha.
Continue readingThe first ten songs were put together by yours truly; I remember making a quick compilation to listen to at school on my walkman. The rest is all Movement, from either August 11 or 19, 1996 🙂
