Some of the live Pet Shop Boys is the same recording from Tape 18. Looks like I made a little compilation here.
Shawn and Jeff parts are May 1995.

Continue readingHere’s a very very good night at The Alphabet Club π
Continue readingWe start this one off with Sunday Night Arena, starring Mazzy Star, which is odd because I didn’t really care for them at the time. As I don’t even remember recording this, thus, don’t remember ever hearing Mazzy Star live before, I’m quite taken by how beautiful and good it is. Maybe because I’m older and depressed so I can appreciate it now, haha.
Once again, I captured the sides in the wrong order. The Jesus and Mary Chain’s portion of Sunday Night Arena comes later at 57:35. Oops.
I have noooo clue when the majority of this tape was recorded. A contest ends April 30, Grant Hill Shoes were released in 1995, and one of the Mazzy Star songs was released in October 1996. So your guess is as good as mine π
Continue readingWhen I would score two favorite songs in a row, that was PEAK GOALS. Peak winning. Especially during a club broadcast, getting them mixed like this. But… THREE in a row? No way…
Continue readingAt this pointβ¦ I am 100% certain that somehow, Bizarre Love Triangle is my most recorded song. It had a resurgence, right? Maybe when the Best Of came out? I swear it’s on every tape I’ve done so far, haha. Not hating. It’s kinda funny at this point π
Continue readingAnytime you here a song fade in, that was a fun trick I learned to do with my very first stereo. I’d switch it to AUX, start recording, then switch back to FM (or cassette if I was making a copy). It would make the audio fade in. I was like 9 when I figured that out π
Anyway, most of this tape is a compilation I put together with my mad skillz. I would usually play these when I played basketball in the backyard with my neighbors (because nothing says bball like Always or Pandora’s Box, right?
If you haven’t noticed, I REALLY liked Always. Couldn’t get enough of it. Especially in 1994. Especially the Microbots Trance Dance Mix. When you’re 13 and your favorite group comes out with a masterpiece like Always…. Ahhhh life was good.
Continue readingThis tape is mostly Live 105’s Sunday Night Live featuring Green Day in Chicago on (I believe) November 18 1994. This broadcast miiiiight be more around Spring/Summer 1995 though based on the mention of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, but I could be wrong.
Continue readingWarner is a serious pain in my ass. 90% of my blocked videos have been because of Warner. Unfortunately SOMETHING on this tape is blocked on Youtube and all I know is that it came from an hour+ long Paul Oakenfold mix. I am never going to be able to find it. And after going through my edit and upload process EVERY time I was emailed a copyright claim (WHY can’t they just tell me all at once?)…after more than an hour of edit, export, shrink, upload, repeat…. I am just done. That kind of shit is really taking the fun out of this.
I used Soundcloud for this one, and it looks like I’ll be using a combination of Youtube and Hearthis in the future.
End rant. Hahaha.
Continue readingA night at The Alphabet Club π I think this was recorded over one of my grandma’s old Oldies tapes; you can hear a creepy voice deep behind the beginning of Tesla Girls, haha.
