Tape 33

I think the majority of this tape was recorded in my car on a day trip to San Francisco with my family. Yeah, I actually brought a whole ass boom box on a family car ride. That probably would have been on a weekend day though, but the Modern Music Minute was a Thursday (August 17 1995). So, I dunno. Haha.

Tape 13

With Always being considered new (dating that part to Spring of ’94), and with “Thank You” being given away (dating that bit to the Spring of ’95)… this tape kinda goes back and forth through time. Some of the live club broadcast is from the Acme Dance Club, and some is from The Alphabet Club.

The Shawn & Jeff bit at the beginning has been seared into my mind for over 20 years and I had no idea I had recorded it. But even to this day, the thought of chocolate shakes with extra cheese cross my mind every time I go into a Del Taco.

Tape 01

This was recorded during the “Modern Evolution Weekend” on KWOD – which, as far as I could tell, meant it was a weekend of playing blocks (by the same artist, or from the same decade, etc). There’s mention of bands I don’t recall them playing usually (Xymox, for example) so it sounds like they dug deep in the alternative vaults for some of them, hehe.
